February will be a launch month for one of Xiaomi’s most successful smartphone lines. The Redmi K50 is being prepared by the Chinese manufacturer, and will be presented in China next month.
As always, these are China exclusive smartphones. But they end up being launched globally as devices from the Xiaomi T line, or as in recent generations by the POCO sub-brand.
Redmi K50 may arrive with Snapdragon 870
According to the Gizmochina website, four new smartphones from this lineup will be released. These will be the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro+ and Redmi K50 GamingEdition. Thanks to a post on the WhyLab page on the Weibo social network, the processors are now known.
The Redmi K50 will use the Snapdragon 870. Remember that it is the same processor that already equipped the Redmi K40, and ended up equipping its global version, the POCO F3. The Redmi K50 Pro will arrive with the MediaTek Dimensity 8000.
Redmi K50 Gaming may be the only one with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
According to this source, the Redmi K50 Pro+ will arrive with some surprise with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor. This is because only the Redmi K50 Gaming will have the right to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
It is good to note that this is not yet official information. But given the launch focus of these smartphones, it should be seen as a very strong possibility. But as Xiaomi has done several times in the past, the global versions may have changes.
Given the success of other years, it is possible that the POCO F4 will keep the Snapdragon 870, and that the POCO F4 Pro will arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. But for now we will have to wait for the official certifications.
