OnePlus 10 Pro is official: a ‘monster’ you can’t (yet) touch

As promised, the OnePlus 10 Pro was announced this Tuesday in China. Unlike other years, OnePlus opted for an advance in the country of origin, and only presented the ‘Pro’ version of its top-of-the-range range for 2022.

The smartphone arrives with several substantive improvements compared to its predecessor. After a year where the cameras were the highlight, we now have the long-awaited improvement in the processor, the screen and even the loading speed.

OnePlus 10 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

The OnePlus 10 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s long-awaited Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. It will be accompanied by variants with 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with 2K resolution comes with LTPO 2.0 technology, which allows you to save battery by reducing the frame rate in more scenarios. This will also happen thanks to the now adaptive refresh rate between 1 and 120 Hz.

Hasselblad remains OnePlus’ partner in cameras. We have a 48 MP Sony IMX89 main sensor, accompanied by an ultra-wide 50 MP Samsung JN1 with a 150-degree field of view.

The camera suite is not complete without the 8 MP telephoto lens. It has a 3.3x optical zoom, without quality loss. In a hole drilled in the screen we have a 32 MP Sony IMX615 front camera.

OnePlus 10 Pro makes the leap to 80W charging

The smartphone will have a 5000 mAh battery, with fast 80 W wired charging. Wireless charging remains at a fairly competent 50W. The smartphone comes with the Hypoerboost mode that promises to overclock the processor if you want to go further in games.

It is good to note that the smartphone arrives with Android 12, with ColorOS 12.1 on top. However, it is expected to arrive with the much-loved OxygenOS in global versions. It will be available in black and green.

OnePlus 10 Pro pricing and availability:

The prices are promising, but you must bear in mind that they are values for the Chinese market, with direct conversion. Once it hits global markets, it will take the usual ‘salt’.

The smartphone enters the Chinese market on January 13, with no official date yet for its arrival in global markets.
