The end of a year means time for balance sheets and the 4gnews team set out to assess the best that 2021 has brought to lovers of mobile technology. Many smartphones have been unveiled over the past year, but it is obvious that some have stood out from the rest.
This reflection exercise will be divided into five categories: better autonomy, better camera, better value for money, better development and better smartphone. In this way we will try to do justice to the best that the upheaval 2021 has brought us.
Before making my choices known, it is important to emphasize that this is a personal choice. Some readers will be able to relate to them, while others will not. But that’s the magic of these opinion pieces and feel free to share your selection in the comments.
Better autonomy
The autonomy of a smartphone is one of the most relevant points and one of the most disparate results it provides. The longevity of a device is not only measured by the nominal capacity of its battery, but a myriad of other factors are associated. But in this category, my choice falls on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Apple’s new top of the range is proof that you don’t need a large battery to have an excellent range on the market.
This shows that the symbiosis of hardware and software is predominant in this chapter. If a few years ago the iPhone was synonymous with being always connected to the plug, the iPhone 13 line has finally shown that this no longer has to be a constant.

This is perhaps the most subjective category of this article, as it will always depend on the personal taste of each individual. Color temperature, shadows, balance between light and dark areas and other parameters have different tastes in different people. But the one that most satisfied my preferences in 2021 was the iPhone 13 Pro.
IPhones have long been considered to have some of the best cameras on the market, and the new generation has reinforced that status. Color reproduction is among the most reliable on the market, as is its night mode which is still impressive.
The best value for money
In Xiaomi’s portfolio we find a range of equipment that stands out for its excellent quality / price ratio. In 2021, there was a model that stood out and came to us through its subsidiary POCO. My award for the best quality / price ratio of 2021 goes to LITTLE F3.
This is an example of how to develop the best possible smartphone at the lowest possible price. It has enough specs to run smoothly on just about any task, a build quality that delivers just that. cousin and a set of competent cameras.

For this category I decided to go for the team that awakened something in me in its presentation. Strictly speaking, that “I would love to have this” feeling. And in an era where secrets are less and less when it comes to unveiling any smartphone, I will choose the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 as the best reveal of 2021.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 was presented as something refreshing, as if the South Korean had suddenly reinvented the formula of folding smartphones. Its larger exterior screen, vibrant colors, and promise of portability make me feel like I “want this.” And for that alone, it deserves my recognition.

In a market as diverse as today, where smartphones are getting better and better, it can be difficult to choose the best of all. But having to pick one as the best of 2021, I will assign that status to the iPhone 13 Pro.
This was the team that, in my opinion, improved on all the essentials of a smartphone. A better screen, even more competent cameras and even better autonomy was what convinced me of Apple’s new top of the range.
In the act of its presentation, the iPhone 13 Pro emerged as more of the same. However, when I examined the smartphone, I realized that it had a lot more to offer than I initially thought. And its 6.1-inch screen is, for me, the perfect size for a smartphone.
