We have to go back to July 2021, when Huawei’s latest high-end smartphone was unveiled in China. The Huawei P50 Pro would eventually go on sale in the home country in August, but it would never make it to global markets.
The Huawei P50 was also unveiled in China in October. Now, Huawei reveals in a statement on social media, it will even present the P50 Pro in global markets on January 12.
Huawei P50 Pro unveiled globally on January 12
“May the invisible reveal itself. Discover sharp focus and vibrant details, even in low light, when shooting with the Huawei P50 Pro. “
There will be some known differences in the global version of the Huawei P50 Pro, compared to the Chinese version. First of all, it will arrive equipped with EMUI 12, instead of HarmonyOS 2.
Global Huawei P50 Pro arrives with Snapdragon 888 4G
Another very important detail is the processor. In China, the Huawei P50 Pro came equipped with the home-made Kirin 9000 5G, but the global version is known to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888. Unfortunately, it will not be compatible with 5G.
Given the US ban on Huawei, there are known manufacturer limitations of not being able to bring Google’s essential services out of the box. And using chips with 5G is more of a problem for those who want a future-proof smartphone.
In the rest, it will be an amazing terminal. It will have a 6.6 ”inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 4360mAh battery with 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The cameras will be a natural highlight. It will feature a 50 MP main camera, 13 MP ultra wide angle lens and 64 MP telephoto lens. The front camera will be placed in a central punch and will be 13 MP.
In its base version of 8GB of RAM and 256GB of RAM, the Huawei P50 Pro costs the equivalent of 895 yuan in China. On January 12 we will surely know what the price will be worldwide.
