Xiaomi 12 Pro versus Realme GT 2 Pro: clash between titans

Recently, both Xiaomi and Realme revealed their premium smartphones that are equipped with similar specifications.

Given this premise, it makes sense to put both devices face to face to try to understand which model stands out. Next, we will analyze various aspects, dictating the winner at the end of each round. Then just add points to find out which one is better at what.

MIUI 13

Both the Xiaomi 12 Pro and the Realme GT 2 Pro are equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, the latest high-end chip from Qualcomm. And both models have variants with 12GB of RAM. Given that the Realme GT 2 Pro has a version with 512GB of internal storage, it could win this showdown, but that’s not the case.

First of all, because this feature does not affect performance. But to get to the winner of the round we have to analyze the software part. The GT 2 Pro runs Realme UI 3.0, based on Android 12, while the Xiaomi 12 Pro runs the new MIUI 13, also based on Android 12. Now a determining fact: the benchmarking platform Master Lu has just revealed that the Xiaomi 12 Pro with MIUI 13 is the smoothest performing smartphone currently available. And that’s why the terminal Xiaomi wins the first round.

Both terminals have AMOLED displays with LTPO technology that allow a variable refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. Both also offer Quad HD + resolution and display up to one billion HDR10 + certified colors.

On the other hand, both terminals also obtained an A + rating on DisplayMate. And for all these reasons, this round ends in a fair tie.

At this point, both devices have strong and quite different arguments. The great advantage of the Realme GT 2 Pro is that it works with a larger battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, while the Xiaomi 12 Pro only has 4600 mAh.

But, on the other hand, the Xiaomi terminal offers faster charging speeds thanks to the 120 watt support, while the GT 2 Pro stays at 65 watts. In addition, Xiaomi also includes support for 50-watt wireless charging. In this round we will have to give a point to each of the teams for the sturdiness, In the case of real me, and to speed of Xiaomi.

Xiaomi 12 Pro
The Xiaomi 12 Pro is equipped with three sensors of 50 megapixels each.

One more point where the two terminals have similarities. Both feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. But the Xiaomi 12 Pro includes a third equally 50 megapixel telephoto sensor, while the GT 2 Pro has given its third sensor three megapixels.
And even though Realme added a 150-degree field of view to its ultra-wide camera, it seems to us that based on paper specifications, the victory in this round it is Xiaomi 12 Pro.

Realme GT 2 Pro
Realme developed an innovative design with the integration of biological material in the GT 2 Pro

Here the winner is pretty obvious. All because Realme included a bio-based polymer that feels the same to the touch as paper, and also enlisted the help of Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa to design the GT 2 Pro what is the fair winner compared to an elegant Xiaomi, but nothing innovative in terms of design.

We remind you that the two smartphones are only available in the Chinese market, so in this face-to-face both terminals are valued at prices converted into euros. So, we have:

If we only look at the price, the Realme GT 2 Pro is the best option, but now maybe it is time to add up the points obtained in each round, to assess the best quality / price ratio. And thanks to the new MIUI 13 interface, the Xiaomi 12 Pro scores one point more than the Realme GT 2 Pro.

Ultimately, it should be noted that both manufacturers have packed their new premium models with the best specs and enough arguments to make these smartphones true global sellers. Here in Europe we await your arrival.
