Black Costume in Amazing Spider-Man
At the beginning of the same year, in The Amazing Spider-Man # 252, the symbiote combination appeared in the comic book Spidey. The title of the issue then read: “Rumors are true. Here is… The new Spider-Man! “, Confirming the suspicions of some fans who thought Spider-Man was going to receive a new costume. Marvel had previously committed to the symbiote costume appearing in Secret Wars # 8, and as this issue had not yet been published, they were not given a choice.
Marvel began to brainstorm with his writers on a story that would see Peter Parker get rid of the costume and find the original one in order to satisfy the fans. The writers eventually speculated that Peter might want to take the costume off. due to its symbiotic nature and his desire to bond with him permanently. The fairly short arc involving the symbiotic combination continued over several numbers until The Amazing Spider-Man # 258, Peter struggling between his family life and the desire for the costume to take hold of him. Thus Reed richards and Johnny storm (the Human Torch) discover the symbiote’s weakness to fire and sound waves. Reed uses a blasting gun to forcibly separate the symbiote from its host.

Not far from there, the symbiote sees Parker’s rival, Eddie Brock, about to commit suicide. Sensing that they share that same pain of rejection, the symbiote jumps up and bonds with Brock, creating the iconic Venom, since known and loved by comic book fans around the world.
