The Volta a Catalunya has announced this Tuesday the locations that will host the departures and arrivals of the seven stages that will make up the 101st edition of the Catalan round, which will be held from March 21 to 27, 2022. The details of each of the stages with their mileage and their profiles will be revealed in the official presentation of the race in early 2022.
For this edition the Volta presents numerous novelties, such as the start of the test in San Feliu de Guíxols after nine editions leaving from Calella. Other novelties will be departure from L’Escala and the return of the Volta to Perpignan, something that had not happened since 1955.
The news also reach the mountain stages of this edition. After the high arrivals in 2021 went to Vallter 2000 and Port Ainé, the Volta recovers for 2022 the final classic in La Molina, which will be the great highlight of this edition together with the final climb to Boi Taüll, that returns to the route of the Volta 20 years later.
The day starting in La Pobla de Segur with arrival in Vilanova i la Geltrú and the penultimate stage are also very interesting., which will run along part of the Costa Daurada between Salo and Cambrils before the final day with start and finish in Barcelona, where the traditional climb to Montjuic is expected to take place.
