Apple may launch 27-inch iMac with mini-LED panel in 2022

After this week of introducing the new MacBooks Pro with mini-LED panels, Apple may launch the 27-inch iMac with the same type of panel.

Rumors move in this direction and that the new model would also be equipped with ProMotion technology.

New 27 “iMac display with refresh rates between 24Hz and 120Hz

Okay, tweeted too soon. The 27 “MiniLED screen goes on an iMac in Q1’22, not an external monitor. You can see a rear monitor. Still variable update from 24Hz – 120Hz … Sorry for the confusion!

Apple wants to launch the new 27-inch iMac next year with the same mini-LED panels and ProMotion technology that it introduced this week in the new MacBooks.

The information was provided by Display Supply Chain Consultants CEO Ross Young on his Twitter account. According to the analyst, the screen will also have a refresh rate between 24 Hz and 120 Hz. Although the resolution has not been advanced, it is assumed that it will not be lower than the 5K resolution of the current Retina screen of the iMac 27 “.

This information gains more force now that the new MacBook Pro models are known that are exactly equipped with mini-LED panels and ProMotion technology. On the latter, Apple guarantees that thanks to refresh rates of up to 120 Hz, the technology makes automatic adjustments based on the movement of the content on the screen.

Although Ross Young first referred to Apple’s plans for a self-contained mini-LED panel display, the analyst corrected the information by stating that such a display would be an integral part of the upcoming iMac 27 model.
