Twitter today (15) unveiled a new way of presenting ads on the social network. From now on, the ads will start to appear among the comments made on any post.
This is another measure of economic reinforcement of the social network Twitter. The news, in fact, was revealed by Bruce Flack, head of the platform’s revenue department.
Announcements between comments are still in the testing phase.
As Flack wrote in his Twitter post, this news will have practical effects starting today. It means that whether users like it or not, today they will start seeing ads between comments.
This measure is currently being tested for Android and iOS users globally. We still have no indication if Twitter users on PC will also face this new feature.
As we can see in Bruce Flack’s post above, the ads are well integrated into the Twitter interface and the most inattentive may not even notice their presence. Also, they will only appear after the first, fifth, and eighth comment.
This strategy demonstrates an additional concern on the part of the social network when it comes to implementing their ads. They reportedly do this as a source of additional revenue, but to disrupt their audience’s user experience as little as possible.
In fact, Twitter expects to receive comments from its users about this new advertising implementation. This exchange of impressions will serve to enhance the experience and make it even better.
The next few months will be experimenting with design, ad relevance, insertion points, and other relevant parameters. It means that what we will start to see today may differ from the end result of this implementation.
