AN new update add Siri to thermostat, allowing you to use the “Hey Siri” commands directly with the thermostat.
This means you can talk to the thermostat not only to adjust the temperature, but also to set reminders, play music, check traffic, control your smart devices, and more.
During June’s WWDC event, Apple announced that it would offer Siri integration to HomeKit accessory manufacturers.
This is very different from HomeKit’s basic support. that manufacturers have so far offered on their products to be controlled through Siri, but always through another device – be it an iPhone, iPad, HomePod, etc.
This voice-controlled thermostat features a built-in intelligent Echo speaker with microphones and speaker. It now also integrates Siri and therefore supports all the same functions as a HomePod and can even be linked to other AirPlay devices for streaming music throughout the home.
Setting up Siri on Ecobee SmartThermostat is easy. You just need to pair the thermostat with HomeKit from your screen and add it as an accessory to your iPhone’s Home app.
