In recent weeks, many leaks have come to paint the robot portrait of the Galaxy S22 range. Contrary to fans’ hopes, Samsung will once again skip the photo sensor for under-screen selfies. In addition, the Seoul giant has reportedly decided to reduce the size of the batteries.

So the standard Galaxy S22 would be powered by a 3,700mAh battery, compared to 4,000mAh for the S21. For its part, the Galaxy S22 + would be satisfied with a 4600 mAh battery, like 4800 mAh on its predecessor. Only the Galaxy S22 Ultra would keep a battery as generous as its predecessor, namely 5000 mAh.

No 45W charging on Galaxy S22

To compensate for these reduced batteries, Samsung is said to have planned to integrate 65W fast-charging technology into its smartphones for the first time. After unsuccessful tests, the manufacturer would then have fallen back on the 45W fast charging, a technology included in some of its previous flagships, the Galaxy Note 10+ and the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The 45W charging was to be integrated into the S22 + and S22 Ultra, the two more high-end versions.

In the end, Samsung would rather be satisfied with 25W charging, as on the Galaxy S21. The three smartphones in the Galaxy S22 range have indeed just passed into the hands of 3C, a Chinese certification body. The agency’s database shows that the three phones will have to be content with a 25W fast charge. 45W charging is not on the program for this generation.

It will therefore be necessary more than an hour to get a full battery charge one of the smartphones. In this area, Samsung is far behind the competition. Moreover, the passage through the 3C confirms the imminent start of mass production of the three terminals. If the rumors are confirmed, Samsung should announce the Galaxy S22 at the beginning of next January. It is also rumored that the presentation would be postponed for a few weeks, until February.
