France is proclaimed champion in the League of Nations

Kylian Mbappé scored a controversial goal in the final minutes for world champion France to turn the score around again and defeat Spain 2-1 in the Nations League final on Sunday

Mbappé scored 10 minutes from time with a nice left-handed definition, although the Spaniards claimed that he was in an advanced position.

After a disappointing European Championship, in which they were eliminated in the round of 16, Les Bleus redeemed themselves in the new UEFA tournament. They also had to flip an adverse scoring in their semi-final against Belgium.

Chances were scarce in a tense final at Milan’s San Siro stadium, but the game came to a boil – and an exciting round trip – at the hour of play.

Moments after French full-back Theo Hernández smashed a shot off the crossbar, Mikel Oyarzabal put Spain ahead in the 64th minute. But France wasted no time in leveling the score through Karim Benzema, finishing just two minutes later with a spectacular shot from outside the area.

Early in the morning, European champions Italy beat Belgium 2-1 in the match for third place.
