The Terra community is currently voting on the ‘Terra Proposal 1623’. This proposal means that the blockchain will be split into two different blockchains, namely to Terra Classic, with LUNA Classic tokens, and the new Terra Blockchain, with LUNA tokens. Earlier it seemed that a large part of the community would vote against the proposal, but that seems to be different now.
According to Terra Station, 90% of the 95.43 million votes currently cast are in favor of the proposal. Mind you, these 95.43 million votes are about 25% of the total votes cast. The community has seven days to decide the fate of the Terra blockchain.
Terra developers support the proposal
According to Terra founder Do Kwon, the proposal has broad support from blockchain builders. One of those builders on Terra is the Flipside Crypto team. The team recently expressed that they are looking forward to the possible renewal of Terra:
It is a passionate community of builders, developers, analysts and users all working towards a better future. We are excited to see this community coming together in a vision for Terra 2.0 + supporting this proposal.
The team at Nexus Protocol agreed with the team at Flipside Crypto. They expressed that they are happy that the Terra community is united and that Nexus believes in Terra’s future. And the team of the group ‘WhiteWhaleTerra’ is also in favor of the proposal. They said:
“White Whale supports this proposal for Terra 2.0. We understand it’s impossible to please everyone in this situation and the proposal will never be perfect, but all things considered, we agree with the other builders that this is a viable way forward.”
