9/11: the tribute of Bruce Springsteen in the act for the 20 years of the attack

Bruce springsteen was presented this Saturday in the commemorative plaza of the World Trade Center as part of the acts in memory of the 20 years of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The musician, 71, played his song “I’ll see you in my dreams”, accompanied by his guitar and a harmonica.

The public audience in New York was made up of authorities and relatives of the approximately 3,000 victims who caused the aircraft attacks. Before and after Springsteen’s performance, the names of the dead were read two decades ago, a tradition that continues every September 11.

In January 2002, four months after the attacks, Springsteen recorded his album The Rising. Released in July of that year, the album contains various themes alluding to September 11, 2001, like “My City of Ruins” and the title track of the album. The Rising was considered one of the best works of the musician and an album that helped cope with the pain of the tragedy.

The 9/11 anniversary commemoration at Ground Zero began this Saturday with a bell ringing and a moment of silence.
