8 killed, 4 lose sight of poisonous liquor in India

Aurangabad: In two districts of the Indian state of Bihar, 16 people died due to poisoning while four lost their sight completely.

Indian media Reports According to reports, a case of death of citizens due to poisonous liquor has come to light once again in Betiya district of Aurangabad city of Bihar state.

According to locals, citizens bought home-made liquor in celebration of Diwali yesterday, which killed eight people and left dozens in critical condition.

Police officials said that two more deaths were caused by poisonous liquor in a village called Gopalganj on Thursday, bringing the death toll to eight.

The death toll from two separate poisoning incidents has risen to 16 so far, with more feared.

The police officer said that four of them lost their sight due to drinking poisonous liquor while the condition of the others is critical. The affected citizens have been shifted to Motihari Hospital in Champaran district where they are undergoing treatment.

Gopalganj District Magistrate Dr. Nol Kishore Chaudhry said that the deaths took place under mysterious circumstances. We have collected samples from the houses of the victims and sent them to the forensic lab for testing. We are also awaiting the post-mortem report of the deceased. Are

Four suspects have also been arrested in connection with the civilian deaths, he said.

According to media reports, there have been incidents of poisonous liquor deaths in the Indian state of Bihar before, on which the government had banned all types of liquor transactions across the state.
