8 injured in car attack and stabbing in Tel Aviv

Eight people were injured in a car attack and stabbing near a shopping center in Tel Aviv, Israel on Tuesday. The incident took place on Pinchas Rosen Road in North Tel Aviv.

An Israeli police spokesman described it as a ‘terrorist attack’. He said that the driver of that car was killed by an armed civilian.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian organization Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement. This, they said, was in response to Israel’s ongoing military operation in Jenin.

The incident happened a day after 10 people were killed in a military operation by the Israeli forces in the Jenin refugee camp in the Palestinian-occupied West Bank late last night. The age of those killed in that attack was between 16 and 23 years. Hundreds of people were injured in the raid.

Israel’s Medical Emergency Service Chief of Staff Uri Shacham said the car hit pedestrians. He then got out of the car and stabbed the pedestrians.
