7 Emirati women are among the most influential women in Africa and the Middle East

Leading business magazine has named 7 Emirati women as the most influential and successful businesswomen in the Middle East and North Africa.۔

The list, released by business magazine Forbes, includes women from 19 countries and 17 sectors.

The United Arab Emirates and Egypt topped the list with 7,7 women, followed by 4,4 women from Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Kuwait and Oman.

With 16 entries, the highest representation is in the banking and financial services sector, followed by 6,6 women from various corporations and the retail sector and 5 women from the technology sector.

More than 25 percent of the women on this year’s list are leaders of regional offices and divisions of multinational companies, including Visa’s Saeed Jaffer, Meta’s Deria Mitras, Cartner’s Sophie Doniro and Mackenzie & Co.’s Rima Asi.

The list also includes 12 newcomers, 8 from the UAE, 2 from Qatar and 2 from Saudi Arabia.

The list includes Emirati women Issa Saleh Al-Qarq Group Managing Director and Vice Chairman Raja Issa Al-Qarq, First Abu Dhabi Bank Group Chief Executive Hina Al-Rustamani, Securities and Commodities Authority Chief Executive Maryam Bati Al-Suwaidi Visa Vice President and GCC Group Country Manager Saeed Jaffer, Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center Chief Executive Najla Ahmed Al-Mudaffa and Standard Chartered Bank’s Chief Executive in the UAE Rola Abu Mana.
