This week there are six new series and movies appearing on the various streaming platforms that you really can’t miss.
Netflix brings together three new releases, including the film Day Shift with Jamie Foxx, but I am Groot, which promises to gain many followers, also arrives this week on Disney +, just when The Princess is scheduled to premiere on HBO Max.
1. Day Shift – Netflix
Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg are the protagonists of this horror and action movie that promises to conquer the public of both preferences from the first minute with many scenes of fear and fight.
Jamie Foxx is the protagonist of the film and makes a living cleaning pools and exterminating vampires. Yes, pool cleaning only serves as a front for the true job of the protagonist, who, in each cleaning service, must fight and eliminate the unusual immortals with sharp teeth.
2. A league of its own: Amazon Prime
Based on the movie of the same name and which featured Madonna, Tom Hanks and Geena Davis in the main roles, the new series League of Their Own revisits the same theme of the movie in the eight episodes of this first season.
In this sense, we accompany a female baseball team that has to deal with discrimination and misogyny, demonstrating to the society that surrounds them that they are just as capable of hitting a home run as male athletes.
3. Locke and Key Season 3 – Netflix
It is already the third season of a series that has many fans and followers around the world.
It maintains the adaptation format of the comic by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez, telling the story of three brothers who, after the death of their father (murdered), move to a manor house full of closed doors and magic keys.
4. I’m Groot – Disney+
This week comes the long-awaited series I’m Groot, a Marvel Studios production for the Disney streaming platform. Vin Diesel voices the protagonist and Bradley Cooper appears as Rocket.
This season’s five episodes follow the animated tree Groot, who appears in his lovable version of Baby Groot, and focus on the glory days of this quirky character.
5. I just killed my dad – Netflix
It is a documentary and most international critics consider it one of the best of its kind.
Here we learn the true story of Anthony Templet, a young man from Louisiana, USA, who murdered his father in 2019 and his unconventional upbringing that will subject anyone to the screen. Not recommended for more susceptible people.
6. The Princess – HBO Max
The Princess is also a documentary built entirely from archival footage that shows, in detail, the life and death of the Princess of Wales, Diana. Adored by public opinion and the cover of newspapers and magazines for decades, the “people’s princess” ended up dying in a tragic car accident.
