When we talk about streaming platforms, we mean Netflix. But its competitors, Amazon Prime, are gaining territory and subscribers thanks to the availability of good content.
Today we focus on five good series that are available on Amazon Prime in Portugal and that you really cannot miss. Yes, The Rings of Power is included, but there are other pleasant surprises.
1. Mammals
This is the ideal series for fans of the TV presenter, also known for the famous carpools available on YouTube, James Corden.
Here, the host plays Jamie, a Michelin-starred chef who discovers that his pregnant wife has been having secret extramarital affairs with some men. This black comedy with a touch of drama reveals a new facet and talent of the famous television presenter.
2. English
It is a co-production between Amazon Prime and the BBC that features the participation of Emily Blunt and Chaske Spencer, known for having played one of the “wolves” in Twilight.
In the narrative of this series that takes place in Central America in 1890, the two characters form an alliance with the aim of taking revenge on all those who have crossed their path to destroy them.
3. The peripheral
Conceived by the creative minds at Westworld, The Peripheral tells the story of a woman who starts trying out a new Virtual Reality headset that takes her into a seductive new reality.
Unsurprisingly, the simulation isn’t just an uncompromising thrill ride, with the protagonist quickly drawn into a dangerous conspiracy and facing consequences that could change the world.
4. The Rings of Power
It is one of the most famous series and also one of the most viewed on the Amazon Prime streaming platform. Many fans of Tolkien and The Lord of the Rings will have signed on to a plan only to become fans of another epic adventure in Middle-earth.
The first season tells the stories of several characters involved, in some way, in the creation of the long-awaited ring of power. It also follows Sauron’s evil plan to rule Middle-earth and how all the tribes band together to stop him.
Entertainment experts say that the second season is already in development.
5. Terminal list
This series is based on a novel of the same name and stars Chris Pratt, known for his participation in Marvel movies.
In this story, Platt stars as James Reece, a former US Navy SEAL suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and survivor’s guilt after his entire platoon was killed on a secret mission.
When he discovers new information pointing to the responsibility of members of the US government and military, Reece seeks to avenge the deaths of his comrades-in-arms.
