Israel Gaza Conflict: Much blood has been shed in fighting between Israel and Gaza’s Islamic jihadist rebels late last week. According to reports, the death toll from the Palestinian side in this fight increased to 48 on Thursday. An 11-year-old girl was also among those who lost their lives in the fighting, and a total of 17 children have died so far. Two children, aged 8 and 14, were also injured in the clash between the two who were admitted to a hospital in Jerusalem where their condition is critical.
Hundreds of rockets fired at Israel
More than 300 Palestinians were injured in last week’s attacks in Gaza targeting Islamic jihadist rebels. The jihadist group has fired hundreds of rockets at Israel after the attacks. The death of an 11-year-old girl, Layan al-Shayer, at Jerusalem’s Muqassid Hospital, has raised the death toll in fighting to 17. At the same time, 14-year-old Naif Al-Awdat and 8-year-old Mohammad Abu Kafia Mukasid are admitted in the ICU. Israel has said rockets fired by Palestinian rebels missed the target and that at least 16 people were killed in the incidents.

The man’s name is Khaleel Awwadeh and he has been on hunger strike for 160 days. The issue of 40 years of Avvadeh came to the fore during the Battle of Gaza. The Gaza rebels demanded the release of Avvadeh under ceasefire. Israel currently holds about 4,400 Palestinians in custody, including insurgents who carried out deadly attacks, and those arrested for protests or stone-pelting.
