4 killed in gun attack-stabbing in Japan

Four people have been killed in a gun attack and stabbing in the central Japanese city of Nakano. The attack took place on Thursday afternoon. Police have arrested a 31-year-old suspect named Mashanori Ayoki in this incident. News – BBC

Japanese media Kido reported that the suspect was carrying a knife. First, he injured a woman in a knife attack. Based on this complaint, two police inspectors went to the spot. At that time Mashanori Aoki opened fire on them. Doctors declared them dead after taking them to the hospital. He had a hunting rifle in his hand.

The attacker hid inside a building for 12 hours. Witnesses said he was wearing a cap, sunglasses and a mask. Police urged the people of the area to stay at home for safety reasons.

Japan has one of the lowest rates of gun violence in the world. In 2019, there were more than four firearm homicides per 100,000 in the United States, compared to nearly zero in Japan.
