34 Nations Secure Spots in Expanded 48-Team 2026 FIFA World Cup

Thirty-four national teams have already secured their places in the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup, showcasing broad global participation for the tournament set to be hosted across North America.

The growing field represents a significant portion of the 48 nations that will compete in the 23rd edition of the global football event. The Netherlands and Germany were among the latest European teams to confirm their qualification earlier this week.

The tournament will run from June 11 to July 19, 2026, across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. All three host nations automatically qualified for the competition.

Nine teams from Africa, six from South America, and eight from Asia are currently confirmed for the tournament. Europe has seven qualifiers so far, while North America and Oceania have three and one team respectively.

The list of qualified nations includes football powerhouses such as five-time champions Brazil and reigning champions Argentina. Established teams like England, France, and Portugal are also confirmed.

Newcomers set to make their World Cup debuts include Cape Verde, Jordan, and Uzbekistan.

Mexico is slated for its 18th appearance in the tournament, the most among the qualified nations to date. Brazil will mark its 23rd appearance, while Germany is preparing for its 21st.
