32 people died in a collision between 2 trains in Greece

As a result of a collision between 2 trains, 32 people were killed while more than 80 were injured.

According to the International News Agency, a passenger train traveling from Athens to Thessaloniki collided with a freight train near Larissa, and several carriages of the passenger train were engulfed in flames.

Greek authorities say that there were about 350 passengers on the train at the time of the accident. So far, 32 people have been confirmed dead in the accident while more than 80 are injured.

Many of the injured passengers have suffered burns while most of the fatalities have been taken to hospital due to the same cause.

Konstantinos Agorastos, Governor of Greece’s Thessaly Region, said the accident caused four carriages of the passenger train to derail while the first two carriages caught fire, causing them to be completely destroyed.
