A quiet drive in Belgorod, a city near the Ukrainian border, turned into a terrifying ordeal for three people recently. A Ukrainian drone slammed into their car. Luckily, everyone inside got out alive.
The impact set the vehicle ablaze. Bystanders quickly rushed to help the three civilians, pulling them to safety. Firefighters soon arrived and managed to put out the flames. Vyacheslav Gladkov, the region’s governor, confirmed the incident. He shared CCTV footage on his official Telegram channel, showing the drone hitting the car right in the city center.
Governor Gladkov described the situation as “extremely difficult.” He announced that all public gatherings and activities in Belgorod would be canceled for the rest of the week. This decision highlights the serious nature of recent attacks on the Russian border region.
In a separate incident early Thursday, another drone struck a government building in a different part of the city. No one was hurt in that attack. Overall, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that their forces shot down 44 Ukrainian drones overnight. These drones were targeting areas across Russian territory and Crimea.
