214 innocent Kashmiris martyred by the occupying Indian army in one year

During 2022, the occupying Indian troops in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir martyred 214 innocent Kashmiris, including a woman and five minor children, in their continuous acts of state terrorism.

According to Kashmir Media Service, 57 of those who were martyred by the occupying Indian Army in 2022 were martyred in fake encounters and during detention. At least 134 people were injured in the brutal use of force against the protesters, while 1,350 people, including women, were arrested during house raids and siege and search operations. The report states that 13 women widows and 35 children became orphans as a result of martyrdom by soldiers, paramilitary forces and police personnel in the occupied valley while 10 women were violated by the occupying soldiers.

During 2022, Indian forces destroyed 44 residential houses and buildings. People were not allowed to offer 14 Friday prayers at the historic Jama Masjid in Srinagar.

Hurriyat leader Altaf Ahmad Shah also died in India’s infamous Tihar Jail during continuous illegal detention. The occupying authorities did not even allow people to offer his funeral prayers.

After ending the special status of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, Indian forces have martyred 730 Kashmiris.

The report said that a total of 96 thousand 163 Kashmiris have been targeted by Indian bullets during the last 34 years in the occupied territory.
