2022 brings the number of Spanish champions to 24 and 57 titles

That of 2022 will be remembered as an excellent vintage for Spanish motorcycling. The MotoGP title has escaped for the second consecutive year, but those of Moto2 and Moto3 have fallen. The one in the small category was already conquered by Izan Guevara with two races in advance, in Australia, and the one in the intermediate category closed it in the last appointment August Fernandez.

The Red Bull KTM Ajo thus becomes the 24th Spanish motorcycling world champion and joins his name to that of an illustrious list that Ángel Nieto inaugurated in 1969, and with his there are now 57 titles conquered and celebrated by Spanish motorcycling.

4. Jorge Martínez “Aspar” 4: 3 80cc (1986, 1987 and 1988) and 125cc (1988)

5. Dani Pedrosa 3: 1 of 125cc (2003) and 2 of 250 (2004 and 2005)

6. Ricardo Tormo 2: 50cc (1978 and 1981)

7. Site Pons 2: 250cc (1988 and 1989)

8. Alex Crivillé 2: 1 125cc (1989) and 1 500cc (1999)

9. Álex Márquez 2: 1 in Moto3 (2014) and 1 in Moto2 (2019)

10. Joan Mir 2: 1 Moto3 (2017) and 1 MotoGP (2020)
