20-year-old Shoaib Bashir has done wonders for England. Bashir made Yashasvi Jaiswal (73 runs), Shubman Gill (38 runs), Rajat Patidar (17 runs) and Ravindra Jadeja (12 runs) his victims. Apart from this, Sarfaraz Khan could only score 14 runs and Ravichandran Ashwin could only score one run.
Earlier, Joe Root’s century was the highlight of the England innings. He remained unbeaten after scoring 122 runs off 274 balls with the help of 10 fours. He formed a 102-run partnership with Ollie Robinson for the eighth wicket (58 runs in 96 balls). For India, Jadeja took four wickets for 67 runs.
