20 people were flogged in a single day in Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, 20 people involved in various serious crimes have been publicly flogged in a single day on the orders of the Taliban government.

According to Arab media, 20 people involved in various crimes have been publicly flogged on the orders of the ruling Taliban government in Afghanistan. The convicted persons were allegedly found involved in adultery, theft and other crimes.

According to Mohammad Qasim Riaz, the spokesman of the governor of the southern province of Helmand, the punishment was carried out in the sports stadium of Dar-ul-Khalifa Lashkargah and each criminal was given 35 to 39 lashes.

In this regard, he further informed that other convicted persons have been given prison terms according to their crimes.

It should be noted that after taking control of the country, the Taliban have implemented such strict policies in Afghanistan, which they say reflect Islamic law and Sharia.

A week ago, Taliban authorities publicly executed an Afghan citizen for murder. It was the first public execution since the Taliban came back to power.

According to Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, the execution of the sentence was carried out by the victim’s father, who killed the criminal with his own hands using a Kalashnikov. The incident took place in Farah province, where hundreds of people and Taliban officials were present, while some Taliban officials had also traveled from Kabul.

The Taliban’s public execution of the murderer was criticized internationally, including by the United Nations.

US State Department spokesman Ned Price said that the Taliban’s future relationship with the US would depend on human rights initiatives.
