185 drivers aspire to the karting world crown

Karting celebrates its big party this weekend in Campillos (Malaga). The Andalusian circuit will choose the world champion of the modality that elevated Formula 1 star drivers such as Fernando Alonso, Carlos Sainz or Verstappen and in which the future talents of the Great Circus compete. 185 pilots from 44 countries and five continents, 23 of them Spanish, aspire to the world title that will be decided this afternoon at the Malaga layout, the best and most modern in southern Europe.

Its 1,580 meters and its renewed asphalt require speed and a high technical endowment to achieve the crown. Andrea Kimi Antonelli, double champion of Europe, the British Arvid Linblad, the Brazilian Rafael Cámara or Freddie Slater in the junior category are some of the candidates to a title that can provide a significant boost to the careers of these new drivers and, in some cases, the springboard to Formula 1.

More than 190 media will cover this competition, which can be followed live in Spain through Andalucía TV and via streaming on the FIA ​​Karting Championship YouTube channel. The 36 best classified in the junior and senior categories will compete for the world crown this Sunday, starting at 2:00 p.m., with Felipe Massa as an exceptional witness.
