15 plants for your garden that won’t let you down

EcoPortal.net

In this video I have put together a selection of more than 15 plants for your garden that, although often not perennials, grow back year after year and give us their diverse colors, aromas, flavors and textures. They are free plants that you can get with little effort and that will give you beautiful results.

The idea of sharing these species with you is so that you have a low-maintenance garden with plants that are resistant to disease, drought or a lot of rain. Much stronger than the ones you can buy at kindergarten!

Season after season you will have a garden with increasing biodiversity. These wild annual plants offer a large number of seeds that will colonize your garden. They sow themselves, you don’t need your hand; They don’t require as much water and therefore don’t need to be watered. They adapt to the climate and germinate at the right time in spring to ensure their survival.

An example is chamomile. This species colonizes the space and forms a beautiful flowering shrub. If you want them somewhere else, you just have to transplant them when they are small or try to disperse their seeds in the spring.

It likes the sun much more and fits very well in the garden combined with tomatoes or peppers as it acts as a green cover and protects the roots from the heat. And it doesn’t compete for nutrients, it’s very rustic.

In addition to Pennyroyal, mint and peppermint are also very suitable as ground cover in shady rooms. They can withstand light traffic and offer a wonderful olfactory experience when walking on them. In this case, mint spreads by stolons rather than seeds. Its growth will extend across the earth. By taking advantage of this type of creeping growth, we can take some sections with roots and transplant them to other locations in the garden.

Mint should not be combined in the garden as it grows quite quickly and aggressively and could drown out other plants. Yes, we can assign him a spot and limit his runners so that they don’t advance.

Both species, chamomile and mint, are used in edible recipes, infusions, and medicines.
