Non-club academy, throughout his career he played with the Azzurri. After Hamšík and Bruscolotti, he is the player with the most appearances at Napoli, with a total of 505 games played and 38 goals. He also became team captain at just 23 years of age.

Coming from the AS Sorrento youth academy, he signed for Napoli in 1972, playing 16 seasons for a total of 511 games and winning a Scudetto, two Italian Cups and an Anglo-Italian League Cup.

In 1985 he signed with Maradona’s Napoli: with him and Careca he formed the attacking trident Ma.Gi.Ca. In Naples he won a Scudetto and an Italian Cup.

A youth squad player from Brazilian Botafogo, he arrived at Napoli at the age of 23 in 1955. He was nicknamed “‘O lione”. He spent five seasons as an Azzurri scoring 69 goals.

Giuseppe Savoldi
In 1975 Savoldi signed for Napoli for the record amount, until then in Italy, of 2 billion lire. For the same reason he was nicknamed “Mister due miliardi”. He played four seasons, scoring 55 goals in 118 games and winning an Italian Cup (1975/76).
