1300 arrested overnight in hot France

Protests spread across France after a teenager was shot dead by police. Police clashed with protesters in several cities across the country. The streets of France are still hot. There were also reports of looting in shops. More than 1,350 cars were torched on the fourth night of the protests.

According to the country’s Ministry of Interior, there were 2,650 incidents of arson on highways.

France deployed around 45,000 officers, including special police units, on Friday night to control the situation. French authorities also reported that 31 police stations were attacked.

French Interior Minister Gérald Darmana said on Saturday morning that 1,311 people were detained on Friday night. This is the biggest catch since the excitement started.

According to international media reports, the police have arrested more than three thousand protesters so far.
