Players of IO Interactive’s Hitman games know the studio’s knack for turning everyday objects into useful tools. Now, the team is bringing that smart design philosophy to their upcoming title, 007 First Light. They aim to make these ideas even better.

Andreas Krogh, the Gameplay Director for 007 First Light, recently made this clear. He told PC Gamer that James Bond’s tools in First Light must be more than simple tricks or gimmicks. Instead, they need to be genuinely useful.
Krogh explained their approach simply. “We want gadgets to feel real and practical,” he said. “They should be fun to use, and you should want to use them again and again for different tasks.” He added that each gadget needs its own special look. More importantly, it must have a clear purpose. This way, players can pick tools that fit their own play style.
Fans can mark their calendars. 007 First Light launches on March 27, 2026. It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
