Jean-Louis Périès, president of the specially composed Assize Court, must declare the proceedings open at 12:30 p.m. For two days, the court will appeal to nearly 1,800 civil parties and all witnesses.
Then, on the third day of the trial, Jean-Louis Périès will read his report which summarizes the 500 volumes of the case. The first witnesses are expected to take the stand from September 13.
